Power Pilates is a mind-body practice that mixes strength and regular Pilates to create a total body workout. Although the workout is derived from regular Pilates, it’s designed with more intensity as it emphasizes the use of core muscles, thighs, lower back, glutes, arms and legs. By utilizing combined and isolated movement with or without the aid of bands, balls, gliders or small hand weights, Power Pilates will definitively build core strength, control, balance and muscular endurance. In addition research conducted by the NIH has shown that Power Pilates will not only build strength and increase mobility but also improve posture, increase balance, heighten body awareness, augment bone density and elevate mood, “In 10 sessions, you’ll feel the difference. What you need to prepare:
- You’ll sweat, so hydrate well before class. Bring water to class as well.
- Wear comfortable clothes that give you freedom and wick your sweat.
- Bring a mat, light hand weights, and a towel. If you don’t have a mat, you can rent one from us for $3.
- Leave shoes in the locker and bring an open mind.
